Layne Staley

Part of my Revolutionaries Series.

ink and watercolor portrait of Layne Staley of Alice In Chains. The Seattle music scene was forever changed by Staley and he was one of the godfathers of the alternative scene. His death was predictable, yet still a tragedy, and he brought a lot of awareness to the despair and death that drug abuse and chemical dependency can bring. His themes of death and despair carry over into many artists’ work, including mine.
