Poe is one of my favorite macabre authors. I was weary of seeing portraits of him done so plainly based on the daguerreotype, and wanted to romanticize him a bit with a more youthful, contemplative and surreal portrait. I included The Black Cat and The Raven as they were the inspiration for this piece. Part of my Revolutionaries series.
